Since its inception in 2009 the Blueliner Hockey Tour has had one simple aim, to sample hockey action and culture around the world. The 2013 version will prove to exceed this. The Blueliner Hockey Tour is heading to a 4 cities in the heartland of the sport that each have their own ice hockey histories but are as passionate and knowledgeable as they come.
The first stop will be on 29th March when the tour arrives in Vancouver. Whilst Famous for the Canucks, Vancouver has a history with the Stanley that stretches back to before the NHL and a certain knack of developing young talent.
Young talent will again be on the radar when on Thursday 4th April the tour hits Vancouver Island. The first stop will be Nanaimo and home of the Clippers and the Vancouver Island University. Next up is the State capital of British Columbia, Victoria. Victoria is home to the Royals of the WHL as well as the Grizzles of the BCHL.
The final stop of the 2013 Blueliner Hockey Tour will be across the border in the USA. The tour will reach Seattle. A city that on the surface may have rejected ice hockey but does still have a strong history and a reputation in junior ice hockey.
More details will follow as they become available.
